- עֲטַלֵּףm. (b. h.; supposed to be comp. of עטל a. עוף, v. Ges. Thes., a. Ges. H. Dict.10> s. v.) bat. Snh.98b אמר לו תרנגול לע׳וכ׳ the cock said to the bat, I look out for the light, because the light is mine (I see it), but Bekh.7b, v. לָקַט. B. Kam.16a, v. עַרְפָּד.
